at the end of my cable

recently dumped Verizon Fios.. And wrote a poem about it.

“On Hold Cancellation Ode to Verizon”

Dear Verizon
I’m sending you off to the horizon
Six years ago, shiny and new
Our journey began.. But now has a dull dusty hue
I called for an update, in a tone so nice
But you wanted an upgrade, and a much higher price!

I protested, saying, “A new customer walks in
& gets a bundle.. with a big Verizon grin
But faithful customers like me who hang around
get only old boxes and a sad Verizon frown.”

So I went down to Cox Cable, to cut a new deal
which will soon expire… so let’s get real
I’ll probably be back.. So please don’t cry
Just be nicer next time, and I won’t say goodbye (:
